3 Reasons to Use Circuit-Training Exercises For Fat Loss

As new research shows that the traditional steady state cardio workouts are not the most effective for burning fat circuit training exercises using body weight and traditional weights are fast gaining popularity. If you go in any gym and watch a personal trainer at work I bet most of them are using circuit type training exercises with their clients because they know they give the quickest and best results.
So if you need more convincing here are 3 reasons why you should be using circuit training exercises in your fat loss program.
1) Circuit Training Exercises give you a great cardio workout.
When your doing circuits especially just using your body weight you are moving from one exercise straight to the other so there is no time for recovery. Also if you design a routine to that works all the muscles in the body then this is going to consume a lot of energy as well. This combination of total body exercises done without rest burns a huge amount of calories is incredibly intense and will have you gasping for breath. Just a few weeks of circuits and you will notice a big difference in your fitness and energy levels.
2) Circuit Training Exercises Boosts your metabolism for longer
So as we know when doing circuit training we are using up a lot of calories during every workout. Also as circuit's combine strength and high intensity interval training this produces a much higher boost in your metabolism than more normal forms of cardio so the"after burn" (the amount of extra calories burned after exercise) is much higher and lasts for longer. Therefore your body is burning more fat when you are at rest post workout.
3) Circuit Training Exercises give a more attractive body
As circuit-training exercises use some form of resistance in the shape of traditional weights or your body weight then you will be building and toning your muscles every workout. Having more muscle is not only good for getting and staying lean in the form of a higher resting metabolic rate but also gives you a more attractive body. Having a tighter more defined body is definitely more attractive then the softer and less toned where the muscles have been broken down too much from excessive cardio. Also you find that by doing circuit training exercises you will feel much stronger and have better coordination, balance and agility due to the amount of muscles used and the different movements and positions you have to perform.
Here is a sample workout using body weight you can do anywhere:
-Prisoner Squat with kick out - Perform a squat with hands behind your head as then kick out a leg as you finish each squat - Alternate legs - 20 reps
-Decline push-ups - Feet on a elevated position - 10 reps
-Forward Lunge - Make sure to keep your head up and back straight as you perform each lunge. - 10 Reps each leg
-Close Grip Push Up - Same as standard push up but with hands close together - 10 reps
-Step-up - At the top of the step up bring the trailing knee up high to add more dynamism to the movement. If just using body weight then these should done at a quick pace. 10 reps each leg
-Squat thrusts - Take a press up position then bring both knees at once to your chest then push the legs back. Repeat for 15 Reps
-Try to do 3-5 circuits with 1 minutes rest between circuits.
As you may have guessed I am a big fan of circuit training exercises. They can be done anywhere, make your workouts interesting and fun and more importantly deliver results. Get started with circuit training today you won't regret it.
